Application: Commercial kitchens, grease traps, kitchen floors and drains

Introduction

Grease traps are plumbing systems that serve as the first line of defence for preventing fats, oils and grease from entering water waste management systems and eventually the ocean.

Waste water treatment plants struggle to cope with fats, oils and grease. When grease from commercial and residential kitchens ends up in the wastewater, it has a similar effect to that of an oil spill.

Principle of operation

Fats, oils and grease are hydrocarbons, which are difficult to break down. EcoFlush 10-10-5 breaks these hydrocarbons down quickly and effectively in an environmentally beneficial way. The product is a completely natural group of bacteria and contains no chemicals. EcoFlush 10-10-5 is derived from glaucids and amino acids which stimulate enzymes to break down hydrocarbons.

Dosage

Fat traps

• First application: in the first application there is generally a high fat content. If the fat layer is hard and dry, the layer should be broken up mechanically with a spade or similar tool before application. Once the thick fat layer is broken up, wet thoroughly with tap water until it is fully soaked.
• Mix 500 grams of EcoFlush 10-10-5 with 10 litres of tap water.
• Apply mixture directly and uniformly to the fat trap using the full quantity.
• The above is only applied once, or repeated until the fat layer has completely dissolved.
• For maintenance, refer to the dosage for floors, floor drains and sinks.

Floors, floor drains and sinks (daily maintenance)

• 100ml of EcoFlush 10-10-5 for every 10 litres of tap water used to clean floors, walls and surfaces.
• 15ml for every 2 litres of tap water for kitchen sinks.
